We are seeking a select group of highly motivated, forward-thinking individuals to join our expert team.

Position Overview

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk will be responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments.  Prepare Items for shipment including packaging, inspection of packaging, counting, addressing, loading materials on truck and completing all associated paperwork. Receiving incoming shipments and freight.  Inspect the package for freight damage, get copy of Bill of Lading and verify pieces received, secure packing list and verify quantity of each item received.  Complete Receiving Log, mark items received and deliver to appropriate department.  Having previous manufacturing experience is a plus, but not required. Furthermore, the ideal candidate is self-motivated, has a strong attention to detail with a quality mind-set, proactively takes ownership of his/her products, is punctual in attendance and meeting goals, and remains flexible with scheduled hours.

Responsibilities

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Receiving Shipments:

  • Unloading deliveries from trucks.
  • Checking and inspecting incoming goods for accuracy and damage.
  • Recording and reporting discrepancies.
  • Signing delivery slips and maintaining records.

Processing Shipments:

  • Packaging and labeling products for shipment.
  • Ensuring proper handling and storage of goods.
  • Preparing shipping documents, including bills of lading and packing lists.

Inventory Management:

  • Organizing and maintaining inventory in the shipping area.
  • Conducting regular inventory checks and reconciling any discrepancies in the shipping area.
  • Updating inventory records in the system for the shipping area.

Communication:

  • Coordinating with carriers and delivery drivers.
  • Communicating with other departments, such as purchasing and sales, to ensure accurate and timely shipments.

Documentation:

  • Maintaining accurate records of all shipments and receipts.
  • Generating reports as required by management.

Compliance and Safety:

  • Ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
  • Using equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently.

Key skills for a shipping and receiving clerk include attention to detail, organizational skills, physical stamina, basic computer proficiency, and good communication skills.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform all assigned tasks, work independently, and complete work on schedule.
  • Exceptional attention to detail skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to follow instructions: Written, verbal or electronic communications.
  • Ability to move, position, lift, and stack parts weighing up to 50 pounds daily.
  • Ability to communicate with teammates, and management with daily updates, questions, and issues.
  • Must be able to work first shift, second shift, third shift, flexible hours, and weekends.
  • Required: Compliant with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status (ITAR defines “U.S. Person” as a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident

Other Skills/Abilities

  • Working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Background in additive manufacturing, metal fabrication and/or manufacturing a plus. Proficient at working with your hands using various tools is a must.
