Mission Statement
Stroke Awareness Oregon (SAO) exists to mitigate death and disability caused by stroke and to support stroke families in living their best lives.
Position Overview
The Operations Manager at Stroke Awareness Oregon combines administrative leadership with program support to ensure smooth daily operations while advancing our organization’s stroke awareness and support goals.
This role reports to the Executive Director.
Key Objectives
- Collaborate with the Executive Director and team in meeting organizational goals
- Recommend and maintain organizational systems and infrastructure assuring operational efficiency
- Maintain SAO office workspace including resource center
- Assist with fundraising, events and community campaigns
Responsibilities
Organizational Operations
- Manage daily administrative operations including scheduling, office management, and basic financial tasks
- Support the implementation of organizational policies and procedures
- Assist leadership with strategic planning and execution
- Maintain organizational records and ensure compliance with basic regulatory requirements
- Manage donor, volunteer and project management systems program data
- Support program evaluation and improvement initiative
Community Relations
- Assist in maintaining relationships with healthcare providers and community partners
- Support the organization’s presence at community events
- Communicate effectively with stroke survivors, families, and caregivers
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality in all interaction
Resource Coordination
- Track operational expenses and assist with budget management
- Coordinate volunteer schedules, activities and data
- Manage office supplies and equipment
- Schedule and coordinate facility maintenance
Qualifications
Required
- 2+ years of experience in operations or administrative management
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Google suite and database management
- CRM, donor and database management experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License and liability insurance
Preferred
- Experience in healthcare or nonprofit settings
- Experience with volunteer coordination

Working Conditions
- Part-time position based in Oregon
- Occasional evening and weekend work required for events
- Some local travel required for community outreach
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
Compensation
Dependent on experience.
