Pay: $19–$23 per hour
Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, flexible shifts between 7:30 AM–4:30 PM
Hours: Guaranteed 20 hours per week, with the opportunity for up to 32 hours per week

Soul Blossom Child Care Center is seeking a reliable, experienced Teaching Assistant to join our warm and collaborative team. This flexible part-time position supports both the classroom and kitchen as needed and is ideal for someone who enjoys variety in their workday and values building meaningful relationships with young children.
Candidates must have prior child care experience, have completed all state-required trainings, and be currently enrolled in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR).
Located in the historic Sisters Elementary School building, our program blends Waldorf-inspired education, nature-based learning, and a nurturing, relationship-centered approach for children ages 1 to 5 years.
About the Role
This is a dual-role position supporting both the classroom and kitchen.
Classroom (Primary Focus)
- Support teachers with daily routines and classroom preparation
- Assist with diapering, feeding, naps, and transitions
- Help create a calm, safe, and engaging environment
- Participate in circle time, outdoor play, and seasonal activities
- Supervise children indoors and outdoors
- Support a nurturing, relationship-centered classroom culture
Kitchen Support (As Needed)
- Prepare simple, healthy snacks and meals
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen
- Assist with dishes, food storage, and meal service
- Support classroom mealtimes
Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)
- All state-required child care trainings completed before hire
- Current enrollment in the Oregon Central Background Registry (CBR)
- Ability to meet DELC licensing requirements

Physical Requirements
- Lift and carry children up to 40 pounds
- Sit, kneel, and move at child level throughout the day
- Work both indoors and outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Additional Requirements (or Willingness to Obtain)
- CPR & First Aid Certification
- Oregon Food Handler’s Card
