EH&S Coordinator

Summary:

The Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) Coordinator will assist with the site environmental, health and safety initiatives. They will assist the site EH&S Manager with establishing site specific policies and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory and JELD-WEN Global EH&S requirements, prevent injuries & illnesses, and help create a strong EH&S culture.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct new employee orientation
  • Conduct training of site employees on EH&S requirements.
  • Assist in the reporting and investigation of injuries, illnesses and near misses.
  • Maintain first-aid center.
  • Conduct and assist with the tracking of EH&S inspections and audit findings.
  • Entering and maintaining accurate EH&S records.
  • Assist in identifying EH&S risks and hazards in the workplace and implementing prevention programs.
  • Assist the site in complying with applicable EH&S requirements.
  • Assist with emergency procedures (such as evacuation and fire alarm drills).
  • Assist site leaders to create, maintain and improve our safety environment.
  • Offering general environmental, health & safety advice to all employees.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of manufacturing experience preferred
  • 1 Year of safety leadership experience desired but will train the right candidate
  • Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • OSHA 30, First Aid, CPR, and AED certification will be required within 3 months of accepting the position.
  • Ability to comprehend safety audits and training material, and assist managers, supervisors, and employees in day to day application.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to take a draft document and finalize in publishable form.
  • Ability to learn new software applications which will be a part of performing this job.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks at one time and prioritize as necessary to achieve deadlines.
