Website Deschutes Children's Foundation

Deschutes Children’s Foundation is seeking a Development Manager to join our team and help bring our fundraising, events, and donor engagement to life.

DCF provides the space and support where nonprofits succeed at helping children and families. Across four collaborative campuses in Bend, Redmond, and La Pine, we support 24 nonprofit partners serving approximately 21,000 children and families each year.

The Development Manager will work closely with the Executive Director to build and steward donor relationships, lead fundraising campaigns, and plan and execute DCF’s signature fundraising events, including Ripples Gala, The Big Dill, and Chip in FORE! Kids. This position also manages development systems and helps share the story of DCF’s impact throughout Central Oregon.

About the Role

This is a dynamic, hands-on position for someone who loves both fundraising and events and enjoys bringing people together around a mission.

Our Development Manager takes the lead on DCF’s signature events from planning through execution. That means building event timelines, working with sponsors and vendors, coordinating volunteers, managing event fundraising systems, developing event communications and collateral, and making sure all of the details come together for a great donor and guest experience.

Beyond events, this person plays an important role in DCF’s year-round development work, building relationships with donors and sponsors, leading our Annual Appeal, managing development systems, and helping keep our supporters connected to the impact they make possible.

Key responsibilities

Who We’re Looking For

Our ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder who is also an exceptional project manager. You enjoy connecting with donors and community partners, but you’re just as comfortable managing timelines, juggling vendors, tracking details, and making sure nothing falls through the cracks as an event approaches.

You’re organized, creative, collaborative, comfortable taking initiative, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines at once. You enjoy working both strategically and hands-on and are excited by the energy that comes with producing successful fundraising events.

Successful candidates will bring experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, donor relations, event management, or a closely related field. Experience planning and executing fundraising or community events is strongly preferred. Experience with donor databases or CRM systems, digital communications, and nonprofit technology is also valuable.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who is excited to work as part of a small, mission-driven team and believes in the power of bringing people together to help children and families thrive.
