POSITION DESCRIPTION

What’s the Job?

Performs administrative functions in support of the Plant Manager and staff to coordinate various administrative and finance functions with Payroll, Human Resources and Gypsum Corporate Office. Performs general office duties including answering and routing telephone calls, maintaining office inventory and handling of plant visitors. This position also provides direct backup to on site Human Resources and the MRP program and will assist with the monitoring of raw materials, finished goods and inventory accessories. Organizes and assists in the administration of Quality & Process Improvement efforts on site.

  • Provides support to the Plant Manager and plant resources (including schedules, appointments, presentations, communications and personnel interactions).
  • Compiles, audits, and processes a variety of complex and confidential weekly, monthly and quarterly reports for departments as requested.
  • Reviews daily production reports with Plant Manager and assists in month-end closing.
  • Participates in the management of the timekeeping system, employee timecards, and employee time off requests.
  • Assists accounts payable with any payment issues.
  • Develops accurate data and information from records to prepare reports, statistics, etc.
  • Assists in the documentation of safety training and safety information at the plant.
  • Organizes plant events including quarterly all-hand meetings, training sessions and annual employee engagement activities.
  • Maintain office inventory by organizing, auditing, ordering, accepting, and picking-up supplies.
  • Supports plant staff and visitors by directing them to company resources and processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

What do you bring?

  • High School diploma.
  • 2-4 years’ general office and related experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.
  • Ability to perform job duties, display a can do attitude and interact with others effectively.
  • Ability to clearly communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet, database and presentation using Microsoft Office software programs. (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook).
