The Loan Origination Specialist owns the loan documentation process from application through to post closing. The role supports the Homeowner Services team by entering initial application information, assembling a complete loan package, managing final underwriting and coordinating closing logistics. This position also supports client mortgage readiness, application processing and review, and post-purchase programming.

Description

CORE DUTIES:

  • Support the Bend Redmond Habitat for Humanity mission of building strength, stability, and self-reliance through affordable homeownership.
  • Process applications from clients and assess mortgage readiness.
  • Gather necessary information from required documents and input as necessary.
  • Track, collect and analyze income and credit documentation to monitor program compliance. Develop financial remediation plans as necessary.
  • Order verifications of employment.
  • Support Application processing, review and scoring
  • Manage the closing schedule for new home closings and repurchases by coordinating cross-departmentally and working collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure all internal deadlines are met.
  • Coordinate and communicate each step of the contract and closing process with Homeowner Services team members, providing updates, challenges and necessary information from clients.
  • Prepare and upload closing documents to required funding websites
  • Prepare all necessary disclosures for each closing through the Loan Origination System.
  • Manage all post-closing reporting
  • Oversee underwriting (of clients and applicants)
  • Manage relationships to ensure on-time deliverables and serve as the liaison between all parties, i.e.: title company, insurance agent, internal departments to prepare all necessary documents for all closings.
  • Manage post-purchase inquiries and website redirects, warranty document uploads, and liaison between department and construction and development
  • Deliver and track post-purchase homeowner surveys and reminders
  • Attend all closings on behalf of Bend Redmond Habitat for Humanity.
  • Comply fully with all federal, state and local laws and regulations, including but not limited to the S.A.F.E Act and its registration, renewal, and updating requirements.
  • Set up all confidential loan files and coordinate with CFO for all post-closing needs.
  • Maintain highest level of confidentiality and respect for homebuyers and the clients we serve.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • Be a certified loan origination specialist, or willing to obtain certification
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to track multiple projects
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the mortgage, loan or financial services industry
  • Advanced skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
  • Experience with, or the ability to quickly learn, loan origination software.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet tight deadlines.
  • Ability to identify patterns, anticipate challenges and proactively develop solutions.
  • Exceptionally organized and detail oriented.
  • Highly skilled at identifying and correcting mistakes, missing, or erroneous information in documents.
  • Ability to communicate with current and future homeowners as well as teammates with compassion and patience.

Salary

$50,000 – $60,000 per year
