Are you mechanically inclined, detail-oriented and interested in developing a real trade skill?

N the Zone Ink is looking for a dependable, quality-focused person to join our Screen Printing Department. Previous screen-printing or production experience is a plus, but experience operating an automatic press is not required. We are willing to train the right person who demonstrates strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking, attention to detail and a genuine desire to learn.

This position involves much more than loading and unloading shirts. You will learn the complete screen-printing production process, including press setup, color and registration control, ink management, quality assurance, troubleshooting and equipment care.

What You Will Do

  • Learn to set up and operate automatic screen-printing equipment.
  • Monitor color accuracy, registration, placement and overall print quality.
  • Inspect printed garments throughout production and correct quality concerns.
  • Adjust press settings and printing parameters to maintain consistent results.
  • Troubleshoot printing, equipment and production issues.
  • Determine efficient production methods for completing orders accurately and on time.
  • Perform routine cleaning and basic equipment maintenance.
  • Review work orders and verify garment, artwork, ink and placement requirements.
  • Update job statuses, production notes and issue reports in our shop-management software.
  • Work with other team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
  • Maintain accurate ink and supply inventory using our Kanban system.
  • Keep equipment and work areas exceptionally clean, neat and organized.
  • Follow all company safety procedures.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Assisting with pre-press and post-press duties.
  • Assisting with screen reclaim.
  • Mixing and matching custom ink colors.
  • Counting, folding, boxing and preparing completed orders.
  • Supporting other production departments when needed.

What We Are Looking For

  • Previous screen-printing experience is helpful but not required.
  • Previous manufacturing, production, sign-shop or equipment-operation experience is a plus.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Ability to distinguish colors, shades, placement and print-quality differences.
  • Mechanical aptitude and an interest in learning how equipment and processes work.
  • Ability to learn from feedback, accept coaching and apply new information.
  • Strong work ethic and desire to develop a skilled trade.
  • Dependable, punctual and prepared to work.
  • Organized, clean and careful when working with ink, chemicals, garments and equipment.
  • Comfortable taking notes and following documented procedures.
  • Able to work independently after receiving appropriate training.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well with a team.
  • Basic computer skills; NTZ uses computer-based systems throughout production.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift and move boxes of apparel.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to commute reliably to Bend, Oregon.

Regular Schedule:

  • Monday–Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 7:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m.
  • Occasional overtime may be available or required
