About Us:

Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades is a safety net clinic that provides free access to healthcare for low-income individuals in Central Oregon (Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties) without insurance by engaging volunteer, supervised by staff, to serve individuals who need their expertise, and in collaboration with local community referral partners who provide medical and dental services on a pro bono basis. Our patient centered, inclusive, approach provides a caring environment that promotes and respects the dignity, culture and values of our patients and families, with ethical medical care in an environment free from bias, stigma, and indifference. Above all, VIM is a warm, friendly, and rewarding place to work with over 200 people who volunteer their time to ensure that everyone in our community has access to healthcare.

Summary of Position:

The Administrative Assistant is an administrative role that assists leadership with a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth daily operations of the clinic. In this role we are looking for a highly organized, detailed, self-starter to assist with daily clinic activities and administrative tasks to work with our team and volunteers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs all essential functions under the direction of the Director of Operations.
  • Assists with the management of daily operational activities.
  • Performing administrative tasks.
  • Assists with HR tasks such as staff recruitment and onboarding.
  • Manages supplies, provides general IT support, and facilities maintenance.
  • Assists with payroll, AP and deposits.
  • Database entry and management.
  • Assists with project management, development activities and event coordination.

Experience and Education

  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Associates degree
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in office management or an administrative role.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal Supervision.
  • Proficient in technology and general office equipment.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Compensation

The wage range is per hour depending on experience. $21.00- $26.00
Full time: 30-40 Hours per week.
