POSITION SUMMARY
We are looking for a Trucking Dispatcher for our Powell Butte, Oregon location. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge of road construction, trucking operations, have good communication skills, and be willing to work long hours during the construction season. Requiring overtime and working occasionally on Saturdays.
Duties and responsibilities include:
- Coordinate trucking needs for various operations-asphalt, excavation, shaping, & quarries
- Centralize dispatch duties to maximize coordination efficiency between all operations
- Maintain communication with Foreperson, quarries, and asphalt plants
- Assign proper start times for drivers
- Coordinate next day’s trucking needs
- Coordinate Truck Rental Agreements and maintain database of Independent Trucking Company’s (ITO) drivers and phone numbers
- Maximize efficiency using proper haul routes and back hauls
- Provide travel directions to drivers
- Schedule around traffic logistics
- Maintain daily “Truck Allocation” worksheet
- Approve all truck rent timecards
- Obtain permits for moving large equipment
- Perform assigned tasks in a safe, timely, accurate and efficient manner observing all safety laws, policies and rules

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Knowledge of ODOT Permit and Trip Logging System
- Knowledge of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR)
- Excellent communication and customer services skills
- Ability to provide and follow verbal and written instruction
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office programs
- Must be organized and able to manage multiple priorities
- Must be able to work in face-paced environment
- Ability to complete tasks timely without supervision
- CDL preferred, but not required
