Overview

We are hiring for a seasonal Purchasing Assistant! Join our team and experience why Sunriver Resort was named Top 100 Businesses to Work for in Oregon! The Purchasing Assistant is responsible for properly receiving and storing all incoming resort goods. They will assist with the inbound & outbound freight and package tracking for the resort. The Purchasing Assistant will assist in maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards. The Purchasing Assistant will always conduct them self in manner which supports Sunriver Resort’s Core Values: Trust, Commitment, and Open & Honest Communication. They shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times and will be responsible for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Responsibilities

Stores all received food, beverage, chemicals, paper and supplies in the designated location, ensuring proper rotation of goodsAssists with managing the inbound and outbound freight and package tracking for the resortFills requisitions, stages orders and delivers products at pre-determined timesKeeps storerooms clean and orderlyDelivers F&B products to resort outlets from central storeroomsChecks quality and quantity of received goods, comparing invoice to purchase order and communicates any differences to buyerCommunicates outs/short orders to customersAssists with writing and placing orders using a purchase orderAssists with product transfers using FoodtrakResponsible for keeping storeroom clean, safe and orderly at all times, including floors cleaned and cardboard broken down dailyMonitors and communicates product shortages/overstock and quality concerns regularlyTransports goods between Purchasing Dept. and outlets.Participates in continuing product and systems trainingsAssists Director of Purchasing with month-end physical inventoryWorks closely with F&B and resort managers to analyze costs, providing help as needed.Attends all appropriate department, division and resort meetings Provides general resort information for guestsOffers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name when possible & good eye contact with each guestMaintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special eventsInteracts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary informationAlways maintains a professional demeanor and attitude Communicates all pertinent information to the Purchasing teamMaintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor. Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipment. Maintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards.Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all timesPerforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent requiredCollege education preferredPrior experience in hotel/resort purchasing, receiving or related field preferredPrior hospitality experience preferredAt least one year customer service experience preferredMust be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permitMust have valid drivers license and meet resort driving standardsMust have valid OLCC cardMust have valid Food Handler’s permitAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidaysMust be able to frequently lift and carry up to 60 lbs alone, and occasionally up to 125 lbs with helpMust be able to very occasionally lift up to 50 lbs above shoulder height
