Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Group Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. This key role will be instrumental in driving revenue growth by securing and managing profitable group business, including weddings, social events, and other assigned vertical markets. The ideal candidate will possess strong sales and negotiation skills, a passion for exceeding customer expectations, and a proven track record of success in the hospitality industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans: Identify and pursue new group sales opportunities within assigned markets (weddings, social events, SMEF etc.).
  • Prospect and qualify leads: Actively network and build relationships with potential clients through industry events, referrals, and online platforms.
  • Conduct site inspections and presentations: Showcase the hotel’s unique selling propositions to potential clients, emphasizing the value proposition and exceeding their expectations.
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals: Effectively negotiate rates, terms, and contracts while maximizing revenue and profitability.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships: Provide exceptional customer service throughout the entire sales cycle, from initial inquiry to post-event follow-up.
  • Manage the group sales process: Oversee all aspects of the group sales process, including booking confirmations, rooming lists, and event coordination.
  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor offerings, and market demands to adjust sales strategies accordingly.
  • Utilize Delphi (or other CRM systems) effectively: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activities, client interactions, and booking information within the CRM system.
  • Contribute to team goals and objectives: Collaborate with other departments (e.g., catering, events, marketing) to ensure seamless event execution and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in group sales within the hospitality industry: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in an independent lifestyle hotel environment.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills: Proven ability to identify and close deals, build rapport with clients, and negotiate contracts effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems: Experience with Delphi is a significant plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines effectively.
  • Results-oriented and driven: A strong work ethic with a focus on achieving sales targets and exceeding expectations.
  • Passion for the hospitality industry: A genuine interest in providing exceptional guest experiences and creating memorable events.
