Partners In Care is seeking a Philanthropy Manager to join us and make a difference in the lives of our patients!  The Philanthropy Manager manages and executes the fund development and grant writing functions of Partners In Care. The Manager works closely with the Chief Operations Officer to create a culture of philanthropy within the organization, resulting in increased revenue for the operation.
Compensation: $74,900-$97,281 (DOE) salaried/exempt.
Location: Bend, Oregon.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pm

 Essential Functions:  

  • Collaborates with the COO to craft an annual strategic fundraising plan aligned with the organization’s mission, vision, and long-term strategic goals.
  • Executes strategies to elevate the effectiveness of Partners In Care’s fundraising initiatives both quantitatively and qualitatively, employing measurable metrics to gauge success.
  • Identifies, researches, and actively engages prospective donors who resonate with the organization’s mission and principles.
  • Partners with the COO to cultivate and solicit major and planned gifts exceeding $1000, nurturing strong relationships with donors through regular communication and in-person meetings.
  • Provides oversight for the annual giving program, devising strategies to enhance memorial giving, events, grants, and special appeals.
  • Fosters high-level relationships with potential funders, including corporations, foundations, and high-net-worth individuals, in close collaboration with the COO.
  • Sources and develops funding opportunities to sustain current and future program activities, leading the development, composition, and submission of grant proposals to diverse funding agencies.
  • Educates the public on our philanthropic endeavors and program impacts, illustrating the transformative effect of contributions on the communities we serve.
  • Represents Partners In Care in public forums and presentations as requested, serving as an ambassador for our organization.
  • Identifies fundraising and strategic marketing opportunities within existing programs and activities, collaborating with the COO to devise innovative and impactful initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of successful experience managing a development program.
  • A record of successful career growth leads to significant nonprofit management responsibilities.
  • High level of organizational sophistication, nonprofit business savvy, communications skills, and relationship/negotiation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to persuade, collaborate, and communicate effectively with business and community leaders, volunteers, elected officials, medical professionals, patients, and their families.
  • Excellent organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Robust computer skills and experience working with donor management software and databases.
  • Current automobile insurance, a valid Oregon driver’s license, and reliable transportation.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to pass a background test, drug screen, and TB test.

As the largest and oldest provider of home health, palliative care, and hospice services in Central Oregon and one of the largest in Oregon, we provide care to communities throughout the Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties. Partners In Care is unique among other service providers as an independent 501(c)3 nonprofit.  Our predominantly mobile workforce of over 200 employees serves patients and their families in a 10,000-square-mile area. About 150 local volunteers work with Partners In Care in fundraising, resource coordination, and other areas of community support.
