Summary
The BottleDrop Retail Lead is responsible for overseeing daily Front of House retail operations of assigned BottleDrop Redemption Center. This position supervises a team of employees to meet business and safety demands including customer service, cash handling, and maintaining cleanliness of facility. The BottleDrop Retail Lead is cross-trained in the Back of House to assist with full center responsibilities as needed.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day operations for the Front of House at assigned BottleDrop Redemption Center
- Supervise Front of House Customer Service Associates to complete daily work assignments, maintain company standards, and follow company policies and procedures
- Lead BottleDrop Team Members and Customer Service Agent 2 in providing a positive and safe environment for all associates and customers
- Responsible for opening and/or closing the BottleDrop Redemption Center
- Assist with BottleDrop Team Members and Customer Service Agent 2 hiring process by facilitating BottleDrop tours, interviews, employee onboarding and training
- Write and distribute team schedule
- Approve timecards within electronic timekeeping system
- Educate and introduce customers to Oregon’s Bottle Bill and the BottleDrop system
- Troubleshoot and maintain all retail equipment including reverse vending machines (RVMs), floor scrubber, pay station, kiosks and printers
- Assist with Back of House responsibilities as needed
- Ensure accuracy of cash handling and reconciliation
- Maintain supply inventory and submit monthly supply orders
- Communicate with other departments within OBRC as needed
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs, stand for several hours a day and climb ladders
- Other job duties as assigned
Education/Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years supervisory/management experience, preferably in a retail environment
Requirements – Skills, Job Knowledge & Abilities
- Cash handling experience
- Excellent customer service skills with ability to effectively diffuse and resolve customer complaints
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate professionally at all levels with internal and external business partners
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and Excel

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
- Work indoors and outdoors as needed in various temperatures/conditions.
- Exposure to industrial equipment with moving mechanical parts, vibration, sharp objects and cleaning products.
- Occasional exposure to odors of empty beverage containers.
- Noise levels in designated areas require the use of approved hearing protection.
- Must be able to frequently lift/carry up to 30lbs.
- Must be able to occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
- Push/pull 50+ lbs. frequently (wheeled bag racks)
- Talking and hearing is frequently required.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to stand and walk.
- Must be able to bend/stoop/crouch/squat.
- Must be able to use arms/wrists/hands/grasp.
- Must be able to occasionally climb and balance.
