The brewery assistant will assist with brewing, packaging, cleaning and maintenance duties at the brewery and otherwise provide support to the brewhouse, cellar, taproom and restaurant operations as directed.

Duties will include, but will not be limited to, assisting with brewing and packaging product, running tests on products in progress, cleaning/sanitizing equipment, packaging product, following inventory management practices, delivering product to internal retail operations and keeping the brewery clean, functional, and safe.

The successful candidate will have a passion for quality beer, acute attention to detail and be highly motivated to contribute to company-wide initiatives. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude that can work effectively in a team-based atmosphere, has effective communication skills, and is a motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic.

This position has the ability for advancement within the organization. Although this is a part-time position, hours can increase during peak seasons and additional hours may be available.


  • High school diploma required
  • Knowledge of the brewing process
  • High degree of organizational skills
  • Ability to follow safety and product quality standards with high attention to detail
  • Maintain meticulous cleanliness in the brew house and related areas
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with a team and independently
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with Monkless team
  • Arrive at each shift on time with a positive attitude
  • Valid driver’s license, clean DMV printout
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Flexible schedule is a must, some nights and weekends may be required
  • Heavy lifting, bending, reaching, twisting consistently during shift is required

Desired Minimum Qualifications

  • 1 year commercial brewing experience as a cellar hand/brewery assistant
  • Mechanically inclined preferred
  • Basic understanding of Excel, Word, BeerSmith, EKOS, Google Apps and other basic programs for brewery functions
  • Excellent organizational skills, self-starter and personally motivated
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively and professionally communicate with people at all levels within and outside the organization
  • Ability to define an issue, gather information, establish resolution path, reach conclusion and escalate as needed
