The Senior HR Benefits Analyst will collaborate as part of the Corporate Human Resources team and work closely with the Corporate Accounting team on required reporting requirements and plan administration as well as collect, compile, analyze and report on HR data, metrics, and statistics related to executive compensation and benefits. This position can be located in Bismarck, ND or Bend, OR.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Psychology, or related field required.
  2. At least three years of experience in related areas such as employee benefits, executive compensation, job classification and compensation, and/or public company HR/Accounting reporting required.
  3.  SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR or CPA or CBP/CEBS preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Plays a key role in facilitating monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
  2. Collaborates as part of HR with Corporate Accounting team on required reporting requirements and plan administration.
  3. Collects and compiles key HR metrics and data from a variety of sources, including human resource information systems (HRIS) and payroll outputs, benefits enrollment records, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, personnel records, government labor statistics, competitors’ practices, and other sources.
  4. Responsible for the preparation of various financial related reporting documents and related SEC filings, and well as certain key technical HR/Accounting areas, including equity-based compensation, present value, tax withholdings, and earnings per share as examples
  5. Assist with MD&A activities.
  6. May guide and/or assist with RFP process for benefit renewal, strategic review of various benefit plans, negotiations, and transitions.
  7. Assist with preparation of quarterly compensation committee reports.
  8. Prepare and update various plan documents.
  9. Responsibilities with administration and reporting of equity, earnings per share, equity-based compensation, and various retirement plans.
  10. Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
  11. Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
  12. Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve existing metrics including changes to benefits and compensation offerings.
  13.  Researches or coordinates with appropriate benefits administration staff to research alternatives for compensation and retirement plans and benefit providers.
  14. Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.
  15. Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Deep knowledge of federal and state regulations governing employee benefits and the ability to interpret data on benefit usage, costs, and satisfaction
  2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  3. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Thorough understanding of local, state, and federal laws involving employment, HR, and benefits administration.
  6. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  7. Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS, payroll, and similar human resource management software and practices.
  8. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  9. Demonstrated expertise in SEC reporting and producing SEC documents with a public company
  10. Familiarity with the audit process and responding to the needs of auditors
  11. Strong analytical skills
