We have an immediate opening for a Paving Superintendent in Bend, Oregon!

Hours are typically 60+/week but may vary depending on workload. The candidate must be willing to work weekends and nights.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Continual expansion of present market base
  • Assist Estimators in project procurement, supervise daily paving operations and administration of construction projects
  • Study and understand plans and specifications related to construction projects
  • Understand requirements for each phase of a project
  • Effectively communicate with direct personnel and sub-contractors in planning and executing work to prevent delays
  • Effectively communicate with engineering personnel, inspectors, and suppliers to resolve issues and move projects forward
  • Must be adept at creating and following schedules; adjust to ongoing schedule changes
  • Assist in hiring, training, and progressive discipline, including termination of employees
  • Must be committed to creating and promoting a safe work environment
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in heavy civil construction industry
  • Computer skills required using Microsoft Office and related software
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards software and AGTEK takeoff software is a plus
  • Must have knowledge of available tools, equipment, methods and materials
  • Must have strong written and oral communication skills
  • Supervisory experience
  • Requires a positive attitude and the ability to work well with others
  • Estimating experience helpful
