The Development Specialist plays a key role in advancing KIDS Center’s fundraising efforts by attracting new donors, strengthening relationships with existing supporters, and increasing overall donor engagement. Working as part of a collaborative Development team, this position partners closely with the Director of Development & Marketing to plan and execute targeted campaigns across email, social media, print, and direct mail.
This role also serves as a lead for the organization’s fundraising technology, managing web-based platforms and CRM systems to support effective donor outreach and stewardship.
In addition, the Development Specialist is an integral member of the team behind KIDS Center’s signature Cork & Barrel event, providing hands-on support in planning, execution, and follow-up, as well as assisting with other fundraising initiatives throughout the year.
What you’ll do:
- Support fundraising and donor engagement efforts to grow resources and expand impact for children and families.
- Lead and manage CRM systems and data strategy to increase donor prospects and ensure data integrity for accurate reporting and decision-making
- Grow the donor base through targeted outreach, online giving strategies, and community engagement
- Build and steward strong donor relationships through consistent communication and high-quality service
- Plan and execute fundraising campaigns, including online giving and annual appeals, to increase revenue and donor participation
- Coordinate fundraising events, partnerships, and beneficiary opportunities from planning through follow-up
- Collaborate with development and marketing team to strengthen donor engagement and drive overall fundraising success
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
- Minimum three years of experience in development and fundraising
- Experience with online donor platforms, with strong CRM and database management skills and the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data tracking, analysis, and reporting to support fundraising efforts
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders, including donors, sponsors, and community partners
- Effective communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to collaborate within a team and build strong community relationships
Preferred Education and Experience
- Knowledge of annual giving strategies and donor cultivation practices preferred
- Demonstrated success securing gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations, major gift experience a plus
- Strong analytical and organizational skills, with the ability to research, interpret data, and produce accurate reports
Position Details
Type: 32 Hours per week, Hourly
Schedule: KIDS Center Hours are M-F 8-5 with occasional evenings and weekends based on organizational needs
Location: Bend Oregon, on-site work at KIDS Center
Compensation:
$48,000 – $58,000 annually, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits (Compensation based on .8 FTE work equivalent.)
