Position Overview

As the Activities Coordinator, you will play a vital role in guiding youth toward achieving their treatment goals by planning and facilitating recreational activities that encourage personal growth, teamwork, and healthy risk-taking. You will also serve as a liaison between the program and the community, fostering partnerships to expand opportunities for youth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate, therapeutic recreational activities.
  • Maintain communication with the court system, parole officers, and juvenile court workers.
  • Engage with parents and legal guardians to coordinate meetings and updates.
  • Plan, schedule, and oversee outings while ensuring all contractual and safety requirements are met.
  • Supervise and manage residents in daily activities, maintaining structure and accountability.
  • Ensure all Behavioral Rehabilitation Service (BRS) hours are met and documented.
  • Facilitate treatment groups and provide individual counseling as needed.
  • Conduct risk assessments and secure approvals for specific outings.
  • Keep thorough documentation of resident progress, case files, and treatment services.
  • Collaborate with staff in case management meetings and contribute to individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with at-risk youth in a residential or treatment setting preferred.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Ability to develop and facilitate recreational activities that support therapeutic goals.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care and behavioral rehabilitation services is a plus.
  • Must pass a background check and meet all state-mandated requirements.
