Student Support Specialist

Hillsboro Aero Academy is seeking a Student Support Specialist to join our flight school staff at the Redmond campus. This position is responsible for ensuring Hillsboro Aero Academy (HAA) students receive industry leading customer service during their training at HAA. The High level of customer service will be provided by assisting and motivating student to complete their training on time. Additional duties include TSA and SEVIS rules are followed for all applicable students.

This is an on-site position.

Job Description:

Maintaining school records, running/auditing reports, daily communications with students, overseeing TSA compliance for all staff and students, managing monthly new student orientation.

 Job duties include:

  • Primary point of contact for all incoming applicants
  • Coordinate campus tours and demo flights for potential applicants
  • Manage admissions process, including ensuring all required documents are received, sending acceptance and denial letters, and invoicing of registration fees
  • Assist applicants with pre-arrival questions, including those about medicals, housing, training program, and financing
  • Arrange student airport pick-ups if required and coordinate arrival times for keys and paperwork
  • Manage the creation of all new student accounts in the Student Portal prior to orientation
  • Assist with new student orientation and ensure all onboarding documents are collected and logged in Student Portal
  • Advise students of Hillsboro Aero Academy policies and regulations to ensure a smooth student experience
  • Assist with TSA and SEVIS rules and regulations for all international students.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
  • At least one year of working with domestic and international students
  • Excellent customer service
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a diverse and fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Applicant must be a US citizen or Legal Permanent Resident and 21 years of age (requirements to administer FAA tests).
  • Applicants must hold a valid, unrestricted US driver’s license (as it is related to a legitimate business reason), and should have reliable transportation

 Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with aviation
  • Experience in office administrative role
  • Associates degree
