(GOBHI) has an immediate opening for a full-time Youth and Family Support Specialist. This position will be based out of the employee’s home office, which needs to be located with the Eastern Oregon region.

This position supports GOBHI Wraparound programmatic and contractual requirements. Assists assigned manager in maintaining compliance and operational standards so GOBHI can serve clients and comply with state and federal medical necessity requirements. Provides systems support through knowledge of web-based software and data collection processes.

Essential duties include:

  • Ensure that youth and families participating in Fidelity Wrap have access to a wide array of services to support their specifically identified needs.
  • Ensure that services are strengths based family and youth driven.
  • Ensure that peer policies and protocols are written with family/youth perspective.
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with family and youth advocacy agencies.
  • Develop and maintain Family/Peer Support Manual.
  • Attend Systems of Care meetings in all counties.
  • Develop and maintain System of Care Youth and Family Representative Orientation packet.
  • Develop and maintain System of Care Youth and Family Leadership Committee.
  • Responsible for payments of stipends for youth and family members participating in Systems of Care committees.
  • Provider peer supervision/coaching to all Youth and Family Peer Support Specialists and Youth and Family Peer partners.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for each Youth and Family Support Specialist, which demonstrates that coaching is responsive to diverse cultural beliefs, practices, languages, learning styles and communication as evidenced by written feedback from Youth and Family partners.
  • Drives to meetings or other GOBHI locations as needed
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

What is needed to succeed in this role:

  • Two years’ experience with the mental health system as a family peer is required.
  • Experience in community networking and facilitating groups preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Flexible able to multitask in response to time sensitive and changing situations.
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Technology Savvy – comfortable using Microsoft Office software and/or Google Suites software.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Effective presentation skills – including public speaking and meeting facilitation.
  • Maintains good driving record and required vehicle insurance.
  • Education – High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Registered as a Traditional Health Worker with Oregon Registry required.
  • QMHA-I certification preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish skills preferred.
