Deschutes Defenders, a non-profit public defense firm in beautiful Bend, Oregon, has an immediate opening for a legal assistant who will work primarily with our case management software: MyCase.
Duties Include:
- Be one of two team members who manage our Case Management Software
- Build, edit and coordinate with team members monthly reports to the state agency
- Download/Upload Material from Prosecutor and Court System
- Review reports for possible conflicts in representation
- Coordinate assignment of cases from staff and court
- Help coordinate calendaring of court and other events
Minimum Qualifications
- Great Attitude and ability to work well within a team and with our diverse community.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Education or experience working in the legal profession is preferred but not required.
- English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
- Proper telephone etiquette.
- Basic usage of modern office equipment and Microsoft Office.
- Must have basic abillity to use Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn new Excel skills.
