We are seeking a self-motivated Quality Assurance (QA) Technician with a great attitude who will be able to work alone, as well as, alongside others in every other department of the company. Work includes in-process QC inspections, final QA inspections, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting problems and participating in internal audits. The QA Technician is part of the Quality Assurance Department. As such, the QA Technician is an integral part of facilitating and maintaining the Quality Management System (QMS).

We are seeking someone with a minimum of 1 year of QA experience in an AS9100 or ISO9001 composite material or similar manufacturing environment. Individuals applying for this position should have strong QA skills and would benefit from having previous exposure to some or all the below Skills and Responsibilities.

Skills and Responsibilities:

  • Help maintain the Composite Approach Quality Management System
  • Perform in-process QC inspections per Work Instructions and/or current technical drawings
  • Analyze products for correct material layup, dimensional accuracy and defects
  • Perform final product and assembly inspections per customer specification and/or current technical drawings
  • Above-average attention to detail to complete paperwork as needed to create part documentation and enforce document control
  • Verify work using measuring tools, height gauges, dial indicators, micrometers, etc.
  • Help maintain calibration system for measuring tools, calipers, dial indicators, micrometers, scales, etc.
  • Aid in completion of Corrective Action Reports
  • Follow the nonconforming material procedure and participate in material dispositions.
  • Conduct internal audits, including post-mortem analyses of results
  • Analyze inbound material to verify proper specifications prior to release to production
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required

Requirements:

  • Maintain effective housekeeping in area of work and share in general shop cleanliness
  • Observe all safety rules and regulations
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels of individuals within and outside the company to maximize equipment manufacturing reliability and productivity
  • Computer skills including electronic messaging, basic understanding of Microsoft Office – Excel and Word
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, instructions, technical drawings, standard operating procedures and Quality Manual
  • Willingness to learn, be flexible and take on new tasks
  • Represent Composite Approach as a visible member of the team in a professional manner that is in line with the standards and values of our company’s culture
  • Assist in improving processes and productivity
  • Available normal business hours with occasional weekend/overtime work totaling 40 or more hours/week
  • Able to read, write and speak English fluently

Working Environment:

  • Meet physical requirements including ability to: 50 lbs, bend/stoop, twist, crouch/squat, kneel, crawl, walk on even and uneven surfaces, climb steps and ladders, work at heights, reach above and below shoulder and able grasp objects
  • This position generally involves standing for long periods of time

Compensation:

DOE, $23 -$28/hr
