About the Role
Centerline Drilling Inc. is looking for a bubbly, outgoing, and people-loving HR Assistant to support our Director of People Operations. If you’re the kind of person who enjoys talking to people, brings positive energy to every conversation, and can make applicants and employees feel welcome from the very first interaction—this could be the perfect fit for you.
While we value personality, we also need someone who can switch gears when needed. This role requires someone who can be warm and approachable, but also professional, discreet, and trustworthy when handling sensitive information or confidential employee matters.
This is an entry-level, hands-on support role focused on day-to-day HR tasks, communication, and organization. It’s a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn and grow in the HR field. HR experience is helpful but not required—we’re happy to train the right person who is reliable, eager to learn, and brings the right attitude to the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the hiring process by contacting applicants, scheduling interviews, handling communication, and tracking candidate progress.
- Support onboarding by preparing new hire packets, collecting required documents, and organizing electronic personnel files.
- Maintain organized electronic records, including personnel files, certifications, and basic compliance documentation.
- Take clear, simple notes during meetings and interviews to support follow-up tasks.
- Handle a high volume of email correspondence and phone calls with applicants, employees, and vendors.
- Perform general administrative tasks such as scanning, filing, data entry, organizing documents, and updating spreadsheets.
- Run occasional local errands, including post office trips and small supply pickups.
- Provide routine day-to-day support to the Director of People Operations on HR tasks and administrative needs.
- May assist with payroll, certified payroll reporting, and union-related reporting as training and experience develop.
Qualifications
- Friendly, positive, and customer-service oriented.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good computer skills with familiarity in basic Excel functions.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple small tasks.
- Comfortable with routine, repetitive administrative work.
- Able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Valid driver’s license for occasional errands.
- Must pass a DMV driving record check and a pre-employment drug screening.
- HR or administrative experience is helpful but not required; training will be provided.
