Website Bridge Meadows

We’re not your typical social service organization. Bridge Meadows has an entrepreneurial spirit, grounded in the belief that we can transform when we’re connected, feel that we belong, and strive for meaning and purpose.

Bridge Meadows builds purposeful communities where children, caregivers, and elders flourish together. Our intentional intergenerational communities help children who have experienced the foster care system heal from trauma by providing foster and pre-adoptive families with stable, affordable housing, and therapeutic services. Caregivers find much-needed support and camaraderie and elders find meaning and purpose by actively engaging with neighbors. By weaving together trauma-informed services and a compassionate network of community members, families and elders move from the stress of instability to the possibility of thriving in a safe environment.

We’re seeking full-time Community Support Specialist (CSS) who is excited about using their skills in a non-traditional setting to build a resilient and supportive community at our Redmond, OR site.

The foundation of our intergenerational model relies on transformation through relationships. This role supports community members in building relationships with one another and addressing barriers to those relationships, assisting community members in accessing resources, and collaborating with community partners to enhance community life. The CSS is integral as the community facilitator and integrator. The ideal candidate will thrive collaborating with people of all ages, from toddlers to nonagenarians.

Great candidates for this role must have experience in addressing family trauma, mental health needs of individuals across the life span, and have familiarity with issues of aging and of foster and adoptive families. They should also have experience in group work, family work, implementing community activities, working with community partners, and community building.

In this role, you will be:

  • Utilizing clinical skills to facilitate and support the strengthening of community members with psychosocial and educational activities that include:
  • Individual support of children, caregivers, and elders

  • Assisting with accessing resources to support community members
  • Understanding when to guide, advise, train, or enable community members
  • Collaborating with site’s property management to support community members
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with community partners

We’ll be excited about you joining the Bridge Meadows team if you:

  • Have 3+ years of clinical social work experience, counseling in individual and group settings, with a committed willingness to work with youth, caregivers, and older adults
  • Can create and implement creative strategies for community engagement
  • Know how to self-initiate, work independently, and enjoy that every day is different
  • Are comfortable using Zoom and other remote technologies to facilitate connection and meetings
  • Have a strong sense of personal and professional ethics and boundaries and can apply them in a community setting
  • Embrace learning about issues that impact people across the life span
