Role Description

As a member of our Banquet team, you are always on stage. Brasada is home to the best wedding venue in Central Oregon, and we ensure that our level of service for those life defining events matches those expectations. The success of those events, and the numerous others that our events team hosts, is dependent on the Banquet team to have the attention to detail required for flawless execution.

To be successful in this position, you must enjoy being an integral part of special events. Your responsibilities to manage, plan and direct the banquet operations including service, and set-up of service are critical to the success of our special events. This position will report to the Banquet Manager and will partner closely with the Catering/Sales and Culinary departments to ensure the banquet operations can meet the demands of the clients successfully. This is a leadership position that directs the work of all hourly staff and is responsible for the overall performance of the outlet.

General Responsibilities

  • Oversees all banquet service operations and ensures that all banquet service details are executed. Assist in ensuring that the events are on time. Make adjustments as needed and relay that information to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in the execution of the strategic plan including profit and loss accountability, cost control and inventory.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) at the beginning of each shift to ensure rooms are set as contracted. Confirm and setup A/V equipment needs to contract for the event.
  • Responsible for the performance of the banquet service staff, including direct supervision of the banquet staff. Provides leadership to the staff in the absence of the Banquet Manager.
  • Assist in the execution of administrative function such as reporting, forecasting and quality.
  • Collaborate with Catering/Sales, Food & Beverage managers and the Culinary team to ensure that quality service is provided for all meeting and banquet guests.
  • Be an active liaison between the guests and other Resort staff to ensure outstanding customer service while maintaining company procedures and complying with company policies.
  • Adhere to all HACCP, OSHA, and OLCC guidelines.
  • Communicate any areas of need, problems, and concerns from guest to Banquet Manager.
  • Develop good working relationships with vendors.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of hospitality trends, especially banquets.
  • Monitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, professional development, scheduling, counseling, evaluations and delivering recognition and reward.
  • Work closely with Guest Services and Maintenance to schedule and perform transportation of supplies and equipment as needed throughout the Resort.
  • Complete administrative tasks as assigned by Banquet Manager.
  • Manage staffing levels throughout events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Banquet Manager

Experience/Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Banquets, Food & Beverage, Conference Services or a related discipline is required
  • 2 years’ supervisory experience in an F&B operations setting
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required
  • Positive interpersonal and customer service skills required
  • Strong project management skills required
  • Proficiency in the following software required; MS Word, Excel
  • Experience in a 4-diamond resort or higher preferred
  • Ability to perform the physical requirements of position
  • Frequently lifts/carries up to 25 lbs
  • Occasionally lifts/carries up to 50 lbs
