Bend Family Friends has opened two brand new Group Homes serving those with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, and we want you to get in on the ground floor with us! As a Direct Support Professional, you will be helping our clients achieve their goals and supporting them along the way. You’ll be a friend, a mentor, and an advocate. Some of this position’s tasks will be:
- Help with basic daily living activities, including cooking, cleaning, and personal care
- Follow our clients’ support plans to care for them effectively
- Accompany individuals to activities such as going to the park, the movies, or the grocery store
- Help them to doctors appointments, work, school, or visiting friends and family in the community
- Assist our clients in developing independent living skills
Experience:
While previous experience is certainly helpful, it is not required to work for Bend Family Friends. We provide paid training to all new hires that begins before you are assigned a position, and continues throughout the course of your employment.
Requirements:
- No experience required – paid training provided
- Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Read/write/understand English
- Must be able to pass background check
- First Aid/CPR certified (will provide training)
- Oregon Interventions Systems (will provide training)
- Must have current Covid-19 vaccine
- Be a team player
- Good attitude and sense of humor!
Locations:
Bend Family Friends has two homes from which we provide our services; Snowbrush and Pettigrew. If hired, you will likely be working at both houses but we are flexible and want to make sure to find the best fit for everyone, clients and staff alike.
Schedules:
BFF provides services 24 hours a day, so there are a wide-array of possible schedules. These range from M-F day shifts, to weekend shifts, to overnight shifts, to even 24-hour shifts. We are happy to work around your schedule to ensure that we find a work schedule that best suits your needs. We know that work-life balance is extremely important and we want to respect that best we can.
Positions:
We are looking to hire folks for full-time (with benefits) and part-time, but there are lots of opportunities for growth within the company and many more positions will become available as the company grows.
Wages:
Wages vary depending on experience but start at $20/hr
