The Fleet Technician position provides performance of fleet maintenance of the Logistics Department. Includes preventative maintenance of rolling stock assets, shop facilities, and coordination of third-party mechanic repairs. Operates as a critical link between dispatch, driver group, maintenance, facilities, and management. Works with the Arrow management team to elevate issues and report on truck and trailer down time and what assets are in and out of service.  Evaluates need to meet daily business demands. Understands the business implications of the decision-making process and provides solutions to ensure high quality service and safety of all Arrow truck and trailer assets.

Competitive Wage:

$26-$32 per hour DOE

Essential Functions and Duties

  • Completion of annual, quarterly, monthly, and ad hoc mechanical repairs and maintenance for Arrow Logistics fleet – including trucks and trailers.
  • Provide direction and insight into maintenance that cannot be performed on site and work with Lead Fleet Technician to secure local option to repair, maintain, remediate, and ensure Arrow fleet is in excellent working order.
  • Track part usage to ensure consumables are lasting to designated intervals – notifying Lead Fleet Technician if consumables are not lasting to designated frequency.
  • Complete truck maintenance tracking via SharePoint documentation.
  • Maintain additive container stock, driver shelf stock, DEF container, and receive oil and DEF deliveries.
  • Continue development and formulation of maintenance workflow, shop manuals, and fleet maintenance routines often working with Lead Fleet Technician to develop and implement.
  • Maintain the Arrow site, sidewalks, grounds, inspect, and clear off ice and snow.
  • Monitor and stick tanks and fuel pumps notifying Fleet Manager if there are oddities in the readings.

Additional Qualifications

  • Ability to understand and interpret complex technical mechanical information to people who are not tech-savvy.
  • Experience with industry specific software – Kenworth Trucktech+, Peterbilt SmartLINQ, Cummins INSITE, PACCAR Davie4, KeepTruckin
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office Suite skills
  • Ability to occasionally work an on-call shift or irregular work schedule including weekends, mornings/evenings, and holidays
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL), brake certification(s), and A/C 608 and 609 certifications preferred, or willingness to obtain certifications while employed with Arrow Logistics.

Hiring Minimum Requirements

  • 1-2 years of industry experience, preferred.
  • 18 years or older
  • Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background screen, including favorable driving record, to the satisfaction of the company
