Job Summary

The Athletic Club of Bend is seeking experienced and reliable youth workers to join our team.  This position is part time with hours varying from 3.5 to 20 hours per week, depending on program usage.  The position is seasonal, as it aligns with the school calendar from September to June.  Employees can reapply each season and can apply for summer positions in the Youth Department.  Start date is September 9th, with training dates to be determined.

Job Responsibilities

• Actively engage with and care for children ages 6 to 11 in the youth room ·
• Organize, participate and lead youth in recreational and educational activities, such as games, arts and crafts, reading and outside play
• Maintain an organized and clean program area and assist coworkers with cleaning
• Support positive interactions between youth peers
• Foster positive rapport with youth in program
•  Maintain a positive image while representing our organization
• Communicate effectively with parents

Hours

• Monday to Friday afternoon shifts
• Availability required between 2:30 to 6pm, and 12:30 to 6pm Wednesdays
• Occasional shifts between 6:15 and 8:15pm on weekdays
• Hours will vary

Job Qualifications

• Infant and Child First Aid and CPR certification
• Excellent communication with children and parents required
• Flexible schedule
• Ability to take direction from leadership
• Ability to collaborate with a team effectively and respectfully
• Ability to maintain a growth mindset
