JOB SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating maintenance activities across a multi-shift beverage manufacturing operation. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this position provides direct supervision and leadership to maintenance technicians and ensures reliable operation of production equipment, utilities, facility systems, and related infrastructure.
The Supervisor is a hands-on leader who can balance immediate production needs with long-term equipment reliability, employee development, safety, and continuous improvement. This position is responsible for directly supervising other employees.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Directly supervise, coach, and develop maintenance technicians.
- Provide leadership and technical direction across day and night shift operations.
- Assign and prioritize daily maintenance work based on safety, production requirements, equipment condition, and business priorities.
- Coordinate maintenance coverage to support all shifts.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings, coaching, and performance discussions with maintenance staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure effective communication between shifts through structured shift handoffs.
- Oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and coordinate troubleshooting and repairs.
- Provide hands-on technical support when necessary for complex mechanical, electrical, controls, pneumatic, hydraulic, or other equipment issues.
- Analyze recurring equipment failures and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Coordinate planned maintenance activities and equipment shutdowns with Production.
- Ensure maintenance work orders are completed accurately and timely.
- Monitor maintenance backlog and prioritize work based on operational risk and production impact.
- Ensure scheduled PM work is completed according to established schedules.
- Develop and maintain equipment-specific maintenance procedures and troubleshooting documentation.
- Promote consistent maintenance standards, procedures, and best practices across all locations.
- Partner closely with Production leadership to minimize equipment downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Communicate equipment status, outstanding repairs, downtime, and maintenance priorities.
- Support equipment startups, shutdowns, changeovers, and line modifications.
- Assist with commissioning and troubleshooting of new equipment.
- Support GMP, food safety, sanitation, and hygienic maintenance requirements.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with applicable OSHA requirements and company standards.
- Monitor critical maintenance spare parts and communicate inventory requirements.
- Coordinate outside contractors and service providers as assigned.
- Recommend equipment modifications, upgrades, or replacement when appropriate.
- Support cost-effective purchasing and utilization of maintenance materials.
- Lead by example in all communications and actions. Uphold company values and consistently model best practices for decision-making, time management, and workplace conduct.
- Maintain positive working relationships with all internal departments and external partners.
- Demonstrate a high level of professionalism in all interactions, maintaining respect, integrity, and a positive attitude while fostering a collaborative work environment.
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned and reasonably related to this role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent work experience in lieu of education is required.
- Technical degree, trade certification, or formal industrial maintenance training, preferred.
- At least 3-5 years of working experience in production/manufacturing environment is required.
- Experience in beverage, food, bottling, packaging, or other food manufacturing, preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience leading/supervising
- Experience with VFDs, motors, sensors, instrumentation, conveyors, pumps, compressors, fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, palletizers, or similar equipment, preferred.
- Experience with plant utilities such as refrigeration, compressed air, boilers, water systems, or wastewater systems, preferred.

- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited information or standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Intermediate computer skills, including ability to navigate files, send and receive email, write routine reports, perform word processing and spreadsheet tasks. Ability to learn, process, and troubleshoot advanced tasks in ERP system.
- Meet company requirements to qualify as an authorized and insured company driver.
- Be able to obtain insured company driver and obtain forklift operator certification within 90 days of starting in this role.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Production based environment with frequent local travel between facility sites.
- Some computer-based work in an office setting.
- Work at heights while lifting
- Loud, acidic and humid working environment
- Indoor, outdoor and refrigerated environments in all weather conditions
- Working with forklifts, pallet jacks, high powered pumps, chemicals, extreme temperature liquids, heavy equipment
- Work on your feet for 8-12 hours daily
- May be required to work all shifts including days, second/swing, split and graveyard
- May be required to work weekends, evenings, holidays, on call
Pay Range: $85,000 – $90,000/yr.
