Website Laurel Ridge Winery

A Legacy Oregon vineyard & winery

Laurel Ridge is one of Oregon’s oldest family-owned and operated wineries. We are looking for a friendly, hard-working personality to join our team as a part-time server’s assistant.

Server’s Assistants work diligently to make sure everything behind the scenes during wine tastings is running smoothly. The primary function of this role is to assist the flow of the tasting room by greeting guests, assisting in managing hosting duties, and keeping everything clean and organized, preparing food orders, and overseeing tables enjoying glasses and/or bottle service.

This is a great entry-level position, although prior hosting or service experience is a plus. This position requires an eager, inspired attitude towards learning and perfecting the role. At Laurel Ridge, we love to promote from within so this is also an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow in the wine industry.

This position is ideal someone who has the following personality traits:

Dependable – shows up to shifts on time ready to help support the tasting room.
Detail oriented – naturally takes an organized and detailed approach to all tasks from charcuterie boards beyond.
People-oriented – possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills. This job requires you to help with the point of sale system as well as chatting with regulars.

Daily responsibilities:

Hosting – greets guests and assists in managing walk-ins and reservations, including identifying tables that will be tasting vs. tables enjoying a bottle.
Prepares and serves all food items including presenting them to guests in a professional manner.
Daily housekeeping – dishes & buffing stemware, taking out trash & recycling, vacuuming & mopping, cleaning bathroom etc.
Assist in restocking wine and handling merchandise including organizing, tagging merch, stocking, etc
Packs outgoing orders and processes wine club pick-ups.
Use our point of sale to help associates stay up to date on tickets to capture customer information.
Answers the phone, addressing reservations and basic questions about the tasting room.
Supports the greater sales, hospitality and event arm of the winery at events and during wine heavy club periods by participating in activities as directed.
Demonstrates consistent ownership over the flow of the day by vigilantly turning tables, knowing which guests are coming and going and being sure to have the tasting room looking cared for and organized at a glance.
Is a positive contributor and communicator with the team – asking what can be done during less busy time periods to get caught up on tasks.

Job Requirements:

Must have or be willing to obtain Oregon Food Handler’s card within the first 30 days of employment.

Will be scheduled most afternoons/evenings Wednesday-Sunday. Shifts usually last from 3:00-7:00pm or 4:00-8:00pm or generally in that range.

Compensation:
