Bring your passion for animal welfare and community impact beyond the clinic walls. The Humane Society of Central Oregon is seeking a Veterinary Outreach Coordinator to expand access to veterinary care for underserved communities across Central Oregon.
This role blends program leadership with hands-on fieldwork—coordinating and assisting in outreach clinics, community animal programs, and pet food assistance while building meaningful relationships with the people we serve. You’ll work alongside a dedicated team to deliver high-quality care in mobile and non-traditional settings, ensuring services are accessible, inclusive, and impactful.

What You’ll Do
As the Veterinary Outreach Coordinator, you will:
- Coordinate mobile veterinary clinics, spay/neuter services (HQHVSN), and community outreach programs ensuring positive client experiences in diverse community settings
- Serve as the trusted HSCO Veterinary Outreach representative and key point of contact in the community
- Lead the Community Animal Program (TNR – trap-neuter-return)
- Oversee pet food bank operations, inventory, and distribution events
- Provide veterinary assistant support during clinics (animal handling, client care, surgical assistance)
- Schedule clinic caseloads and coordinate animal transport and mobile clinic logistics
- Track program data, assist with grant reporting and budgeting
- Train and support staff and volunteers
- Deliver client education and community engagement

Required Skills

- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
Qualifications
- 1+ year experience in a veterinary clinic or shelter clinic
- Experience with high-quality, high-volume spay/neuter (HQHVSN) preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 1+ year experience in animal welfare or shelters
- Must be 21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Familiarity with community cats and TNR best practices
Work Schedule
Full-time (40 hours per week), including at least one weekend day per month. Evenings and on-call responsibilities may be required.
