Job Title: Mental Health Technician – Day Treatment Program Schedule: Full Time | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40 hours/week) Starting Pay: $21.00/hour (Higher rate considered based on verified external experience) Reports To: Day Treatment Skills Trainer Supervisor Location: Bend, Oregon

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Technician/Skills Trainer works under the direct supervision of the Day Treatment Skills Trainer Supervisor to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of skills-based therapeutic services for school-aged youth enrolled in the Day Treatment Program. This position plays a vital role in delivering trauma-informed care by providing therapeutic support, academic assistance, and skill-building interventions in a structured classroom setting. The technician works collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team to help clients meet their individualized treatment goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions under the direction of the supervisor.
  • Provide skills training and emotional support to clients within a classroom environment.
  • Assist with academic instruction and classroom management as needed.
  • Serve as a positive role model and provide leadership and direction to youth in care.
  • Maintain consistent supervision and ensure a safe, supportive, and trauma-informed environment.
  • Participate in treatment planning, implementation, and progress evaluations.
  • Consult with clinical team members, agency personnel, and family members regarding client needs and progress.
  • Accurately document client interactions, behaviors, and progress as required.
  • Uphold agency standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, education, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth in a therapeutic, behavioral health, or educational setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles strongly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in crisis situations.
  • Must be reliable, flexible, and committed to the wellbeing of youth.
