Knife River has an excellent opportunity for an HR Assistant! The schedule is typically Monday-Friday, and this position will be expected to work from our Bend or Tangent office.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide general clerical and administrative support to the HR department including data entry and filing.
- Support the onboarding process (pre-hire screenings, submit background checks, schedule pre-employment testing with clinics, complete employment verifications, and conduct new hire orientation).
- Support the recruitment process by performing a variety of outreach and attending/organizing recruitment events.
- Handle employee inquiries and provide assistance on HR-related issues.
- Perform other HR related tasks and special projects assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 3 years of office/clerical support experience.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office products and the ability to learn new software programs (Smartsheets, UKG, etc.) - Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and possess a high level of self-motivation in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills in person and virtually.
- Superior organizational skills required and the ability to follow directions.
- Strong sense of urgency, proven attention to detail and comfortable working and meeting deadlines.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle information of a confidential nature.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license with a cleaning driving record. This position may require overnight travel to different locations around the region.
- Display a professional and courteous attitude towards all team members and customers.
