Job Description:

The Oregon Department of Justice’s Division of Child Support (DCS) is seeking a leader with strong interpersonal, planning, and critical thinking skills to join the management team as a Branch Manager (Child Support Supervisor 2) in our Bend Office. The successful candidate will work closely with another branch manager to direct the work assigned to the office, to support all branch staff as they complete their work and to participate in the development of branch and program goals. This position plays a leadership role in the local child support program, representing the program and DCS at community and civic intergovernmental activities.

The Bend DCS office is assigned child support cases in Crook, Deschutes, Harney, Hood River, Jefferson, Klamath, Lake, and Wasco counties. This includes the establishment, modification and enforcement of child support and health care obligations as well as the establishment of paternity. The Bend DCS office works cooperatively with three federally recognized tribes, The Confederated Tribes of Warm Spring, The Klamath Tribes, and The Burns Paiute Tribes along with the Crook District Attorney offices.

Our Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization effectively and professionally.

What You Will Do

In this role you will work collaboratively as a Management Team with the other Branch Manager (Child Support Supervisor 2) for the Bend Office of the Division of Child Support. You will provide supervision and leadership amongst the Bend Branch Team by developing your team through coaching and maintained trainings. This role is also accountable for supervising represented staff and one subordinate manager. In this role you will review and develop short-term and long-term goals for performance and measuring the outcomes. This role includes the responsibility of program management. As a member of branch management team, you will participate in the establishment and implementation of plans to meet the Division of Child Support Mission. You will offer advice, make recommendations, and provide guidance to overcome obstacles. Other roles include the responsibilities of managing the facilities maintenance, monitoring the branch’s budget, and is not limited to participating in special projects as assigned.

Required Experience

  • Four years of lead work, supervision, or progressively related experience

OR

  • One (1) year of related experience AND a Bachelor’s degree.

Work experience is based on a 40-hour work week. (Example: 20 hours a week for one year would equal six-months of work experience.)

AND

  • Finalists must pass a comprehensive employment reference check and fingerprint-based criminal background check. A driver history check will be included for positions requiring state vehicle driving privileges. Adverse findings will be evaluated to determine eligibility for the position.
