Join the team and experience why Sunriver Resort was named Top 100 Businesses to Work for in Oregon! The Lodge Kitchen is looking to hire for a seasonal Server for our morning shifts! The Server is responsible for ensuring the standards of service in assigned food and beverage outlets. They will take orders, deliver food, drinks and other items to guests. The Server will act as a liaison between the kitchen and guests. They will assist with maintaining the AAA Four Diamond standards. The Server will always conduct themselves in a manner which supports the guiding principles of Sunriver Resort: Trust, Commitment, and Open and Honest Communication. They shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times and for exemplifying the Sunriver Resort Culture as well as promoting Sunriver Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!

Responsibilities

Adheres to the steps of service using the service standards manualTakes guests orders using seat numbers and appropriate order taking sheetsEnters orders accurately into POS systemsFamiliarizes themselves with all menus including three meal periods, lounge menu, wine and beverage listsResets dining room according to meal period and table needsPerforms food & beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee and ensuring work stations are stockedFollows all proper bookkeeping and cash handling proceduresEnsures all opening, on-going and closing side work is complete and signed off by a manager on dutyServes food and beverages to guestsInforms and promotes guests of daily/nightly specialChecks guests’ identification to ensure minimum age requirement for consumption of alcoholic beveragesRemoves dishes, glasses, silverware or other item from tables and countertops and takes them to the kitchen for proper sanitationOffers creative selling of products to guestsAnswers questions and/or makes recommendations on menus itemsCleans tables and/or counters & seats after guests are finishedExplains how various menu items are prepared, describing cooking methods and ingredientsTakes into consideration any special request, dietary issues made by the guestPerforms food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers, cold dishes, portioning desserts and brewing coffeeProvides general resort information for guestsOffers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name & good eye contact with each guestMaintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special eventsInteracts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary informationUp sells other resort services and amenities to guestsDescribes and recommends wine pairings to guestsBrings wine selections to tables with appropriate glasses and pours the wine for guestsEnsures final quality check on food and beverage prior to serving guestsMonitors assigned tables for customer satisfaction, quality and additional serviceAccurately prepares guest bills and provides in a timely manner and ensures accurate payment is receivedAccurately reports tips & shift times in the appropriate location at the end of each shift

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalentPrior hospitality experience preferredAt least one year high volume restaurant serving experience preferredAt least one year food & beverage experience preferredAt least 6 months POS system experience preferredAdequate wine, beer and mixed drink knowledge preferredMust be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permitMust be able to read, write and speak EnglishMust be at least 21 years of ageMust have or be able to obtain prior to start date a valid OLCC cardMust have or be able to obtain prior to start date a valid Oregon Food Handler’s perm itAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidaysMust be able to stand and walk throughout the shiftMust be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 at shoulder height;Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 75
