Overview

Sunriver Resort is hiring a Cook II that can work 3 days a week at our Cove Aquatic Center. The Cove Aquatic Center features an indoor and outdoor pools and spas, an indoor and outdoor waterslide, a gently flowing eddy, a nature walk and discovery area, lakeside trails, a spacious deck & lawn and more!

Responsibilities

Works with culinary team to prepare exceptional quality foodLeads by example, supports and demonstrates strong leadership in the culinary areas Assists in the daily production of banquet, restaurant, conferees and outlet menusMaintains and completes daily prep lists and tasks as assigned by supervisorTastes and visually inspects all prepared food Ensures food, garnishments and plate presentations are adhered to standardsProduces recipes efficiently and consistently Ensures portion necessities and portion control for all food functions are recipes, especially high cost itemsInspects food preparation and serving areas to ensure safe, sanitary food-handling practicesFollows all HACCP guidelines Prepares food in accordance with working menus, recipe cards, and photograph standardsEnsures food is prepared within adequate timeframe and meal is served at the appropriate temperaturePerforms simple food preparation tasks such as making sandwiches, carving meats, and brewing coffeeMaintains and stock the set-up of the lineEnsures equipment and supplies are properly storedProvides general resort information for guestsOffers warm and sincere welcome/farewell for all guests of Sunriver Resort including use of guest name when possible & good eye contact with each guestMaintains an up to date working knowledge of all resort amenities as well as any special eventsInteracts with resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments when necessary Attends mandatory monthly department meetings and appropriate resort and division meetingsMaintains constant awareness of safety issues, (i.e. broken glass, frayed electrical cords, leaks, broken locks and suspicious persons). Reports all safety incidents to on-duty supervisor. Acts with responsibility towards all company property, supplies and equipmentReports to work on time as designated by posted scheduleMaintains a professional appearance. Follows all Sunriver Resort dress code standards.Remains alert, courteous and helpful to the guests and colleagues at all timesPerforms other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school education required At least one year kitchen/prep experience or one year of culinary school required; or 3-4 years’ experience in a high volume, quality culinary operationMust have valid Food Handler’s cardMust have complete understanding of the fundamentals of the culinary operationMust be able to work with an around kitchen equipmentMust be able to work with and around a diverse group of food, seasonings, etc. Must always ensure a teamwork environmentAbility to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidaysMust be able to frequently lift and carry up to 25 lbs. & occasionally lift, carry, push & pull up to 50 lbs;
