Position Summary
Oversees snow removal staff in plowing of Parking lot and Roads.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
- Communicate information between manager and employees.
- Create work schedule for the crew.
- Monitor payroll in ADP.
- Establish plan for each shift, lead operators in safe operations.
- Ability to train employees on safe and proper operation of equipment.
- Watch for weather changes, equipment issues and communicate with manager clearly.
- Clear parking lots and roadways of snow.
- Clear snow from maintenance areas.
- Clean ice and snow from equipment and complete equipment inspections each shift.
- Tire chain building and repair for equipment.
Secondary Function
- Assist mechanics in servicing equipment as needed.
- Work with grooming in hauling of snow for day operations.
- Ensure walls are cut and clean between storms.
- Open and clear drains as weather dictates.
- Pull ice pack layer on road ways and parking lots.
- Repair pot holes in lot/roads as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Number of employees supervised: Up to 10.
Positions supervised: Plow operators 1 and 2.
- Scheduling and assigning work: Assign employees to equipment and tasks, follow up on completion of tasks.
- Training: Train employees on safe, proper and efficient equipment operations.
- Salary actions: None.
- Disciplinary actions: Document action when needed.
- Performance review: Mid-Season and End of Season reviews for operators.
- Hiring/Termination: Work with Fleet Maintenance & Snow Removal manager for Hire/Terminations.
Interpersonal Contacts
Public Safety/Security, Grooming operations, Vehicle mechanics, Parking attendants, Lift Maintenance mechanics, Lift Services (tubing hill operations) and early arriving guests in parking lots.
Specific Job Skills
- License/Certifications: Current and Valid Driver’s license
- Technical: Experience with heavy equipment machinery.
- Physical Capabilities: Able to work at night in variable weather conditions.
Education/Related Experience
- Minimum education required: High School or equivalent
- Minimum time in related position: 2 years either supervising staff or 2 years heavy equipment operations
Current Hiring Rate: $26/hour.
Minimum Age Requirement: 18
