Opportunity
This role provides payroll administration for the organization and is part of the HR Department. This role is responsible for processing bi-weekly payroll, supporting timekeeping, payroll tax coordination, and integrity of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS)/timekeeping and data maintenance. This role serves as the primary payroll contact, providing excellent customer service, provides training, interpreting payroll policies and procedures and resolves issues.
Responsibilities
- Accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll and manual checks
- Provide excellent customer service and serve as payroll primary point of contact.
- Investigate and resolve payroll issues in a timely manner.
- Process garnishments, loan payments, insurance deductions, bonuses, anniversary awards, etc. timely; including system setup, employee communication, vendor communication and payroll related reporting.
- Complete quarter-end and year-end checklist to ensure smooth and successful tax filings and W-2’s, working with payroll vendor to resolve discrepancies.
Skills & Knowledge
Understanding of state and federal payroll and payroll tax laws. Proven proficiency using computers, specifically MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook). Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Proven proficiency performing research using the internet and other resources. Strong organization and math skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion. Keyboarding speed of 55 wpm and data entry skills; accuracy is essential. Excellent customer service and proven ability to effectively communicate, verbally & in writing, with all levels of staff personnel, outside agencies, and the general public. Cultural diversity awareness, sensitivity, and competency, including the ability to successfully work with and relate to individuals from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Ability to use office equipment, including computer, printer, scanner, fax machine, copier, and multi-line telephone. Ability to read, understand, and apply administrative policies and procedures.

Education
Required: High School or better.
Experience
Required: 2-4 years: 2 to 4 years of payroll administration experience required. HR information system and/or payroll experience required.
