Training Tomorrow's Workforce Today

Lead a crew of young people working with the US Forest Service for the summer! Adult crew leaders receive training on projects and tool use ranging from fire fuels reduction to trails work, and provide direction and mentorship to crews to complete tasks. A great way to work directly with USFS professionals and learn new skills. 10-hour days, monday-thursday involve meeting at a USFS office in the morning, loading up tools and supplies with the help of the youth crew, driving to various areas of the forest in a USFS truck, and heading back to the USFS office in the evening. Crew leaders receive a week of training before the season starts that includes S-212 chainsaw certification, youth management practices, epi pen training, and more.
